In Memory of Carrie Fisher: 1956-2016

Known to most for her iconic Princess Leia role in the three 1970s-1980s Star Wars films (Episodes 4-6), Fisher appeared in many other films, as well as becoming a successful author.  The daughter of actress and singer Debbie Reynolds and singer Eddie Fisher (who left Reynolds to marry Elizabeth Taylor), Fisher’s gave her life the screen treatment in her adaptation of her 1987 novel Postcards from the Edge, which, though fiction, was a semi-autobiographical work about her drug addiction and growing up with a stage mother.
