A Guide to Popular TV Dramas: Part 4

So here it is, the last of a four part series on popular dramas currently airing today.

Supernatural Dramas feature characters of supernatural origin such as zombies, vampires, werewolves, witches, and ghosts or have plot lines that deal with the supernatural or a combination of both. Shows such as The Walking Dead fall into the latter category, which feature human characters battling the titular creatures. Although the advent of these “walkers”, as they’re touted on the show, aren’t strictly supernatural in origin on the series, the definition of what they are is. Therefore, I have categorized them as such.

Below are several shows that are all available at the Niles Library.

*The Walking Dead Season 1; Season 2 and Season 3

Get all caught up! Catch all three seasons of this hit series and be sure to place a hold on Season 4 coming soon!

True Blood:

This hit HBO drama is in it’s final season. Be sure to catch all 6 seasons before the series bites the dust and rides off into the proverbial sunset. If you like vampires with bite, then this is the series for you. Aside from vampires, the series has added werewolves and faeries to the mix.

The Vampire Diaries:

This hit CW show was created by the writer of the Scream horror franchise, Kevin Williamson. A hip and stylish vampire series based on a series of novels by L.J. Smith.

Being Human:

This SyFy drama series follows three supernatural beings: A vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost who struggle to live a normal life while living together under one roof. Based off the hit BBC series, this was a faithful remake of its original counterpart. This series has since ended this past Spring. Since this was still fairly recent, I have added it to this list.

*American Horror Story

I hope you have enjoyed reading this series and have a better understanding of the different types of dramas on TV. So go ahead and pick some of these up while you’re at the Library!
