Many of you will be required to read at least one book (maybe more) over the summer.  Before you go out and buy those books, you may want to try the library.  We’ve got local public and private schools’ summer reading lists, and can help you locate the books.  Search our catalog now.

If the book you want is checked out, then we can put a hold on it for you.  We stock multiple copies of the popular books, so you won’t have to wait all summer to get them.  Find out how to win prizes by reading.

Poetry

First Place: William Wallis for his poem “The Wreck of the Attica
Second Place: Alicia Tatiana Carletto for her poem “Where I’m From”
Third Place: Samuel Fuller for his poem “Voices”
Honorable Mention: Geoffrey Wallis for his poem “The Six Romans”

The winning poems are currently on display on the 3rd floor of the library.  They are also included in copies of a booklet that is availble free to the public.

Thank you to everyone who submitted poems this year!  There were many great poems and they were all enjoyable to read.  Please do not feel discouraged if your poem didn’t win a prize, but continue to write and share your writing with others.
