Watch music videos of local teen bands Blame the Dog and Sitting on the Ceiling and vote for your favorite! The winning band will perform live at the library this fall.

Celebrate reading with art!
Submit your original art and we may display it in the library and on the Teen Scene blog! First place will also win a $50 gift card. Art may be done in a variety of mediums, and must fit the dimensions 700 pixels by 225 pixels. Submit your art at the 2nd floor reference desk, by email to email@example.com; or mail to Donna Block c/o Niles Public Library District, 6960 W. Oakton St., Niles, IL 60714.
Finalists will be displayed in the library and at the top of the Teen Scene blog. The submission deadline is Saturday, October 24. To enter you must be between the ages 12 and 18 as of Oct. 24, 2009. Limit three entries per artist. Email entries may be submitted as one message.
What kind of artwork can you submit? Drawing, painting, photography, collage – anything that will look good on a website!
Please note we cannot return entries. Winners will be contacted by telephone. Submitting entries for the contest constitutes permission to publish your name and art should your entry win.

Wednesday July 29 2:00-5:00 Compete for prizes! Individual and group compeition. Brackets will be used in the individual competition.
Special prizes for a new group competition in Guitar Hero 4. Sign up to perform as a group and the audience will vote for their favorite. Grades 5th-12th, only!
Hey music makers! The deadline for our Virtual Battle of the Bands has been extended to August 15th! That means you have until Saturday, August 15 to send us a link to your band’s music video!Make a video of your band playing any 1 song & post it on online. Then, send a link to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org .
Please include your band name, band members’ names and ages, address, and phone number with your entry. Local teens and librarians will vote for their favorite.
The winning band will get $100 and perform at the library in the fall. Attend the video screening on Aug. 20 to vote for your favorite and show support for your band.
Band members must be between the ages 12-21 as of Aug. 15, 2009. Only bands from Illinois are eligible to win.
