In Memory of Michael Ballhaus: 1935-2017

Known mostly for his collaboration with director Martin Scorsese, Oscar-nominated cinematographer Ballhaus also directed movies in his native Germany and unofficially (Ballhaus was billed as cinematographer only) co-directed Under the Cherry Moon with Prince.  Starting with 1985’s After Hours, Ballhaus began a seven-film partnership with Scorsese, which included Goodfellas and the Best Picture of 2007, The Departed.
