Known for his highly energetic stage performances, Berry is considered one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. Born in St. Louis, Berry’s big break came after he moved to Chicago and signed with Chess Records in 1955. At Chess, he recorded some of his most famous works, including “Maybellene,” “Roll Over Beethoven” and “Johnny B. Goode.”
