You are a few months into the New Year and feeling good about those resolutions. Your closets and your desktop are reorganized. That long-lost friend is happy to meet up and the picture of the new food pyramid is on the refrigerator door.
That’s great! But now consider adding a financial goal to the mix. Want to budget better? Buy a home? Finally get your Will done?
Check out the events coming up during Money Smart Week March 30 – April 6. This public awareness campaign is designed to help you, the consumer, better manage your finances. It is convened by the Federal Reserve of Chicago and the Niles-Maine Library has been a contributing partner for many years. These events are offered to all ages and income levels, and cover all facets of personal finance.
The Library kicks off the Week a few days early with Home Buying 101 and How to Land a Job in 90 Days on Wednesday March 27.
You’ll also see the return of these important topics on Saturday March 30:
Show Me the Money! Drop in to ask the State Treasurer’s office to find your unclaimed and forgotten cash and stock. Then plan to attend the Wills & Trusts program to learn how to begin or update your estate plan.
Other programs include social security, property taxes, and financial scams. Register at our Events page and come in to pick up your 2019 Money Smart Week calendar to discover more FREE programs at participating libraries in the Northwest suburbs.
Just as being happy is different for each of us, the same goes for being wealthy. Some people feel wealthy with a comfortable income and some want to amass fortunes. To some, money is not a factor. Whatever you decide, set the goal and stick to it. Your well-being will thank you.
